Talking and listening बातचीत और सुनना

Little ones learn new words every week. Songs, rhymes, picture talk and simple stories help them ask for what they need and listen to others.

Bedtime story tips

सोने से पहले एक कहानी।

The school day ends at one, but learning carries on at home. A few simple ideas for the story before sleep.

  • Same time, same story corner

A fixed bedtime and a cosy spot tell a small body it's time to slow down.

  • Let them choose, sometimes

Picking the book gives a child a say. Reading the same one ten times is normal, and good for them.

  • Ask “what happens next?”

Pause before you turn the page. Guessing builds language and imagination.

  • Screens off first

Put phones and TV away a little before the story, so the story is the last bright thing of the day.

  • Tell a story about their day

No book? Tell the story of their own day: who they met, what they made, what made them laugh.

  • Hindi, English, both

Stories in the language you speak at home count just as much. Mix them freely.
